Attendance is very important to our school. The Welsh Government target for attendance is 95%. Schools are measured by their attendance and are then placed into groups depending on their percentages.
Pupil attendance is reported termly to parents using a traffic light system. Attendance is also recorded year on year to ensure we track and safe guard our pupils carefully.
It is vital we work together to try our best to improve pupil attendance.
We are working very closely with our Lliswerry cluster of schools and the Education Welfare Officer who visits our school every fortnight to look at all our registers to monitor ALL pupil attendance. He is there in a supporting role but his job is to monitor and ensure pupils attendance is the best it can be at all times.
We have a very comprehensive Attendance Policy available on the website that we ask all of our parents to read. The school will not authorise any holiday absence for leave. If you intend to take you child out of school, please ensure that you make an appointment to see Mr Smith first before you make any arrrangements and complete the Leave of Absence request form which can be obtained at the school office.
