Free Breakfast Club
Maindee Breakfast Club provides children with a healthy start to the school day, helping to improve the health and concentration of the pupils in order to raise the standards of learning and attainment.
The breakfasts offered are healthy and consistent with the Healthy Eating in Schools Regulations 2013 and the pupils have the option of choosing one item from each of the following four food groups:
Milk-based drinks or products
Semi-skimmed or skimmed milk
Whole-wheat biscuits, cornflakes, rice based cereal, shredded wholegrain wheat biscuits, malted wheat squares, bran flakes, or porridge.
Fruit and vegetables
A selection of chopped fresh fruit or dried fruit to add to the cereal, fruit canned in natural juice, unsweetened fruit/vegetable juices, baked beans in tomato sauce, or tomatoes tinned in juice.
Breads and toppings
A variety of breads can be offered, served with polyunsaturated or monounsaturated margarine and thinly-spread reduced sugar jams, marmalade and honey.
Breakfast Club Times
8:00 - School doors open.
8:30 - School doors closed. Pupils will not be allowed to enter breakfast club after this time.
